Hannah Claire Baker is a New York-based writer, director, and photographer.

Born in Amsterdam and raised in New York, she attended Wesleyan University’s film studies program before working as a writer & director’s assistant to Academy Award winning/nominated filmmakers including Ava DuVernay, Chivo Lubezki, and Drew Goddard. She is currently developing her debut feature script with A/Vantage Pictures & Putnam Pictures. She was the recipient of the 2019 Hedgebrook Screenwriting Residency. She is also the writer of the film criticism Substack "Never Cursed."

As a director and photographer, Hannah has worked with artists like Mitski, Ashe, Sasami, Vagabon, Charly Bliss, and more. Her music videos and photography have been featured by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, VH1, Teen Vogue, Spotify, Kodak, Ilford, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and more. 

In podcasting, she produced and edited Deadline's Strike Talk podcast hosted by Billy Ray, and story edited HBO's companion podcast for White House Plumbers.
